Our Via Ferrata Mont-Catherine excursions are perfect for thrill seekers who wish to take up the challenge while enjoying the breathtaking view of Mont-Catherine. No experience necessary, but it’s important to note that the level of difficulty of the route is moderate to difficult. Guests looking for a slightly easier challenge may prefer our Via ferrata and two mega-ziplines.
The first section takes about 1h30-2 hours and offers a physical, yet relatively easy ascent. Along the 1968 foot (600m) route, while connected to the continuous life line (you are always connected to a steel cable), you will climb obstacles such ladders, metal steps and handles, and cross bridges and steel cables and even a chain swing between two sections as you ascend to a height of 196 feet (60 m), the equivalent of a 20-storey building!
The second section of about 45 min is more similar to rock climbing, with a vertical ascent up the cliff face that offers a real physical and technical challenge. The views of the entire region from the top are well worth the effort! From the top, you will go down the mountain on a hike of about 2297 feet (700m) to get back to our base camp!
The Via Ferrata Mont-Catherine is one of several Via Ferrata activities offered in the area, see our comparison table.
