Our trip starts at our reception where you will be greeted by one of our certified guides. We’ll show you how to get into your harness and you will receive a security briefing. We start on a practice wall where we will teach you the basic techniques involved in ascending the Via Ferrata. Then it’s an easy 10 minute hike from our reception to the foot of the cliffs to the start of the Via Ferrata.
The first section takes about 1.5-2 hours and offers a physical, yet relatively easy ascent. Along the 1968 foot (600m) route, while connected to the continuous life line (you are always connected to a steel cable), you will climb obstacles such ladders, metal steps and handles, and cross bridges and steel cables as you ascend to a height of 196 feet (60 m), the equivalent of a 20-storey building!
You can choose to exit the course at this point and wait for the group to finish. (The Discovery finishes here.) Our guides are with you the whole time to help with the gear and offer suggestions for the best techniques.
The second section of about 45 min is more similar to rock climbing, with a vertical ascent up the cliff face that offers a good physcial and technical challenge. The views of the entire region from the top are well worth the effort! From the top, you will go down the mountain on a hike of about 2297 feet (700 m) to get back to our base camp!
