Sustainability

The Great Outdoors for generations to come

At The Tremblant Activity Centre, we believe the long-term health of the environment is crucial for outdoor activities, and that outdoor activities are in turn crucial to the local community and regional economy. We also believe that land use for outdoor activities helps keep natural environments protected.

For centuries, or even millennia, outdoorspeople have been stewards of the environment. This attitude is rooted in a deep appreciation for natural places and the wilderness. Outdoors people have an innate respect for nature and it's our responsibility to pass it on to others.

What we measure and improve each year

The Tremblant Activity Centre has signed the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge as part of our commitment to improving our sustainability between now and 2030.

Energy & environmental impact

We track our energy use, waste management practices, and overall environmental footprint, and monitor our progress through annual sustainability assessments.

Local economic impact

We track and prioritize purchases from local businesses and service providers, and work to increase the value of underused local resources year over year.

Visitor awareness

We encourage responsible tourism practices by promoting Leave No Trace Canada principles to our guests and support our activity partners in adopting industry best practices.

We are currently (summer 2026) developing a sustainability action plan that will be tracked and reviewed on a regular basis.

Recognized standards

We hold certifications that reflect our commitment to quality, safety, and environmental stewardship.

How to visit responsibly

At The Tremblant Activity Centre, we want every guest to travel responsibly and get the most out of their experience with us. To help make that happen, we encourage all guests to follow the guidelines below to help protect our environment, support our local community, and ensure everyone has a great time. Taking a few moments to read through them before your activity will set you up for a great experience.

1

Be Smart — Travel strategically

  • Choose the right time: Visit outside peak tourist periods or mid-week. You'll avoid traffic, reduce travel time, and lower your CO2 emissions.
  • Local transit: Explore Mont-Tremblant using public transit — it's free!
  • Convenient shuttle: Arrive stress-free this winter with the direct connection between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport and our region.
  • Get around differently: Rent or bring a bike, or walk.
  • Prepare for the weather: We're in the mountains. Pack clothing and gear suited to the season — including cold snaps, heat waves, rain, and storms.

We recommend bringing or renting a car in Montréal if you want to get around the Mont-Tremblant area easily. We are in a rural area, so taxis and rideshare can be limited or delayed in peak season. That said, many of our activities are accessible on foot, by bicycle, or by public transit. Access details and precise directions are available on every activity page under "additional information", and exact getting-there instructions are included in your Reservation Email.

Leave No Trace™

  • Stay on durable surfaces. Use marked trails, even when wet or muddy. Walk single file.
  • Always check whether the trails you plan to use are open, especially when conditions are fragile. Trail conditions are updated regularly.
  • Observe wildlife from a distance. Avoid feeding animals. Keep pets on a leash or leave them at home.
  • If you pack it in, pack it out. Then reuse, recycle, or compost.
  • Take only photos, leave only footprints. Do not remove natural elements. Avoid introducing non-native plant, animal, or insect species. Clean your watercraft and, for example, do not bring outside firewood.
  • Check fire restrictions before camping and follow the rules in place.
  • Be considerate of others. Respect fellow visitors and help preserve the quality of their experience.
3

Support the Local Community — And plan wisely

  • Reserve directly with local businesses: Skip the large foreign travel platforms and their added fees.
  • Plan ahead: Check availability for accommodations, activities, and restaurants to avoid unnecessary trips.
  • Choose responsible activities: Favour local experiences that respect the environment and support the community.
  • Eat, shop, and discover local products! Every local product you choose helps preserve our economy and our traditions.
