Dogsledding – Upper Laurentians is one of the great winter activities that we offer and that you can enjoy with the whole family!

Description

At our Dogsledding – Upper Laurentians activity, the trip is adapted for you! We have trails that are more challenging and others more quieter to fully enjoy your ride. First, you will be greeted on site and you will get a security briefing before heading out for a 1h ride of dogsledding on trails in the Boreal forest. If weather condition permits, you will stroll through the mountains, near a lake or visit a beaver habitat. We guarantee a guide per sled at all times. Our guides will offer explanations of the surrounding wilderness during the ride.

At the end of your dogsled tour, you will have the chance to visit our kennel and warm up next to a camp fire. You will also be able to crazy carpet on our sliding slopes!

Know before you book :

OUR DOGSLEDDING FILLS UP WEEKS IN ADVANCE FOR HOLIDAY WEEKS (Christmas, President’s Week, School Breaks) AND WEEKENDS. MAKE SURE TO RESERVE EARLY.
Dogsledding is a sport. Participants will be active during the ride.
Minimum 2 years old.
No pregnant women.
Maximum 400lbs / per sleigh. Example: 1 adult + 2 kids less than 90lbs

If participant is more than 250lbs, you will have to make a reservation for a ”Participant solo”.

Know before you go:

Please dress appropriately for dogsledding. Ask if you are unsure or see our What to wear section
No restaurant on site and we are far from any urban area. We recommend that you bring a lunch or snacks and drinks.
Guests should be at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure.

Additional information :

Our base is 50 minutes from Tremblant resort, 2h15 from Montreal and 2h30 from Ottawa.
Duration: 1h30.
For guests who choose to reserve in advance (recommended), directions to meeting points will be provided in your reservation by email. Otherwise, directions will be handed to you when you reserve at The Activity Centre.
Prices do not include taxes or mandatory resort royalty of 3% and may be subject to change without notice.

FAQ – Nordic Adventure

When should I reserve?

These are very popular activities. Reservations for weekends and vacations should be made 1 to 2 weeks in advance. For any other time, reservations should be made a few days in advance.

How should we be dressed?

How many people can go on one sled?

We usually configure 2 adults per sled (one driver, one passenger). Children between 3 and 11 years old go with the guides for safety reasons. Configuration also depends on the weather and snow conditions.

Is it hard on the dogs?

These dogs are working dogs who are bred to pull and run in a cold environment. They are trained and fed properly to be able to do it well. They like pulling a sled as much as a retriever likes fetching a stick. This will become obvious just before the ride starts. Feel free to ask your guide anything you want about sled dogs… learning about the dogs is an interesting part of the experience.

Do we drive our own sled?

Yes, participants that are 14 years old and over and a minimum of 90lbs will have a chance to drive the sled, depending on the conditions.

Can we pet the dogs?

Yes, at the end of the ride, you get to pet and reward them.

Is it hard?

This activity can be strenuous for drivers. As a driver you are part of the team, so when the climbs are steep the driver will have to get off and walk, jog or even help push the sled.

Un moment inoubliable avec des gens qui aiment leurs métiers, et qui nous font découvrir la magie du traîneau et de leurs chiens, on replonge en enfance avec cet enthousiasme des instants qui restent gravés à jamais !!!!

The dogsledding adventure was incredible! Everything was fantastic, from the welcome staff, the sledding guides, the dogs, the scenery…the experience was everything we could hope for and more. We are already planning our next adventure with them in 2025!
